Why Wing Chun?

Wing Chun is a traditional Chinese martial art that develops mind, body, and spirit through discipline, relaxation, and fitness. It's built on structure, position, and sensitivity rather than size and strength, which is why it suits smaller people, beginners, and people of all ages.

Why West County Wing Chun?

- Practical self-defense: solid fundamentals, two-person drills, and real applications. No fancy flying kicks.

- No egos: senior students help newcomers learn.

- A real family atmosphere: we build brotherhood, camaraderie, and unity, guided by the Mo Duk code of conduct.

- Authentic lineage: Ip Man, Ip Ching, Chris Damiano, Sifu Dennis Moreland.

- All ages, backgrounds, and skill levels are welcome.

Meet Sifu Dennis Moreland

Dennis began martial arts in 1982 at age eight. He holds a 3rd-degree black belt in Chinese Kenpo under Tim "T.O." Toeniskoetter, with whom he taught group and private lessons, including instruction for the military and the St. Louis Police Department. He also holds a 4th-degree black belt in Kodokan Judo under William Howard. While teaching at Centerline Martial Arts in Destin, Florida, he found Ip Ching Wing Chun. He has also trained extensively in Kali/Escrima, Pekiti-Tirsia, Serrada Escrima, Balintawak Arnis, American Kenpo, boxing, the Joe Lewis free-fighting system, and Aikido. Today he's committed to preserving Wing Chun as passed down by Chris Damiano under the Grandmaster Ip Man/Ip Ching lineage.
